Parts Ordering Procedure

When accepting a booking through BookMechanic.uk, it is your responsibility as the mechanic to ensure all required parts are available, suitable, and meet our standards.

1. Check Parts Availability Before Accepting

Before accepting any booking:

  • Confirm that the required parts are in stock.
  • Ensure they can be delivered or collected in time for the scheduled job.
  • Check that the cost of parts falls within the budget allocated for the job.

✅ Only accept the booking if you’re confident that the parts will be ready in time and are of suitable quality.

2. Ordering Parts

Once the booking is accepted:

  • Order the required parts as early as possible to allow time for delivery, collection, or addressing any issues.
  • You may use your preferred suppliers, but you must ensure the parts are on site and ready before the job begins.

3. On-Site Parts Handling

All parts must be:

  • Brought to the job location on the day of the appointment.
  • Installed only if they are confirmed to be suitable for resolving the customer’s issue (especially in repair jobs).

4. Customer Transparency

If the customer is present during the job:

  • Always offer them the opportunity to view the parts that were removed and replaced.
  • Clearly ask if they would like to see the old parts before disposing of them.

5. Quality Standards

We do not support or recommend the use of budget or low-quality parts.

  • Only use parts that meet approved standards for safety and reliability.
  • If the quoted price does not support the use of quality parts, you must decline the booking.

By following this procedure, you help ensure that every job carried out through BookMechanic.uk meets our standards for reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
